MSGT Sebastian Edward DeLuca, Korean War and Vietnam War Veteran, Born in Massuchusetts, he became a Native of Fayetteville, NC.

Master Sergeant Sebastian Edward Deluca was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Army, MSG Deluca served our country until June 26th, 1971 in Laos. He was 38 years old and was married and third tour with SOG.  He had grown frustrated with failed rescue missions and the situation in Laos,  Sebastian died (a one-man bright light team) while trying to rescue fellow members of his team. Murdered by the Royal Thai Police.  His body was recovered.

He served as a Team Sergeant with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, MACV Advisory Team, Special Operations Group-80 (Laos), MACV. SOG’s OP80 the Recovery Studies Division, whose specialty was retrieving downed airmen from behind enemy lines.

He was awarded The Combat Infantryman’s Badge(CIB), The Bronze Star Medal, The Army Commendation Medal, The Purple Heart Medal for his combat related wounds, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Service Medal, The National Defense Service Medal(s) and The Army Good Conduct Medal(s).
