Sgt. 1st Class Tadeusz M. Kepczyk

Tadeusz Marian Kepczyk was born on September 9, 1924. Tadeusz was born in Rzeczniow, Poland and was an orphan of WWII. In 1952, he joined the US Army in Sonthofen, Germany. He served during the Korean War and in Vietnam.
He was multi-lingual and trained at many American bases. He became a master parachutist, pistol marksman, expert rifle and joined the 10th Special Forces at Fort Bragg. He was, transferred to Germany with the US Army Berlin Brigade. It was there he met and married his wife Ingrid in 1960 and had 2 sons, Thomas and Roman. In 1965, he received a Bronze Star for heroism for Ground Combat in the Dominion Republic with the 7th Special Forces Airborne.
In Vietnam he served with Military Assistance Command, Vietnam Studies and Observations Group which was a highly classified, multi-service US special operations unit which conducted unconventional warfare operations. On August 23, 1968, Green Beret Kepczyk was killed at Forward Observation Base 4 in Da Nang. He had served his country for 16 years.
