My assignment to CCN was short.  Only about three months,  Dec, Jan, and Feb of 69 and 70.   I was an SF medic coming from the 10 in Ft. Devens.   I was not recon and spent most of my time in the dispensary, training with a platoon size element, and many, many, weeks on top of old hickory.   I did have an interesting experience;  I believe it was the beginning of Jan and I was task for a POW operation and the night before we were to go into training.  Some indigenous troops gave me an egg, with feather and bones,  of course I ate it and the next morning I was very sick.   So, another medic was assigned, but the mission was canceled and yet I still felt guilty for getting sick.  After leaving I went to A-414 as senior medic and then as A-414 was closing I went to A-404  Mike Force, Airboats to finish my tour.  Hope this is Helpful-   Michael Conlon –  Member Number 3010G
