Waiting for choppers to be inserted on Rocket Ridge the day after we got word that our Company Commander (Cpt. Rbt. Howard) was to go to the White House to be awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. FOB-2 was heavily rocketed that morning. Our mission was to find and destroy the launchers. I was 1-0. Billy Lewis was my 1-1. McNair didn’t go as he was injured on a HALO jump. Some time in 1971 – Kontum Province, Vietnam.
